Trusted by Clients Across 20+ Industries
Brooklyn Web Design
Professional Web Design for Brooklyn Businesses
Brooklyn is home to an incredibly diverse range of businesses, from restaurants, shops, and creative studios to professional service firms, consultants, healthcare providers, startups, and established companies.
Your website should reflect what makes your business distinct while giving potential customers a clear reason to choose you.
-
NYC-Based Web Designer
Based in New York City, I work directly with businesses throughout the five boroughs. You'll have the convenience of working with someone who understands the local market, operates in the same timezone, and is familiar with the expectations of businesses and customers across NYC.
-
Direct Collaboration
You'll work directly with me throughout the project rather than being passed between salespeople, account managers, designers, and developers. This keeps communication clear and the process efficient.
-
Business-First Web Design
A successful website needs to do more than look good. My background in business helps me approach each project strategically, with your audience, positioning, services, and conversion goals guiding the design.
-
Built for Search & Growth
Every project includes foundational SEO best practices, thoughtful page structure, responsive design, and a website that's easy to manage on your own and expand as your business grows.
Brooklyn Website Redesign
A Brooklyn Web Design Project With Measurable Results
One example of my work with a Brooklyn business is the website redesign for Tørst, an award-winning craft beer bar and restaurant in Greenpoint.
Tørst already had a strong reputation and existing website traffic, but the previous website wasn't doing enough to convert that attention into meaningful engagement.
During the planning process, increasing reservations and private event inquiries was identified as one of the primary goals of the redesign.
The new Squarespace website introduced:
A dedicated private events page and streamlined inquiry form
Clearer calls to action for reservations and events
Expanded food, beer, wine, and cocktail menus
Simplified navigation and site structure
Professional photography that better represented the venue
Responsive layouts optimized across desktop, tablet, and mobile
Following the launch, the new website helped generate a noticeable increase in reservations and private event inquiries while giving prospective customers significantly more information before reaching out.
Strategic Website Design
Does your Brooklyn business need a better website?
A professional website should accurately represent your business, clearly communicate what you offer, and make it easy for potential customers or clients to take the next step.
-
Your current website feels outdated
Your business has evolved, but the website hasn't kept up. The design no longer reflects the quality of your services or the way you want your brand to be perceived.
-
You're relying too heavily on referrals or social media
Word of mouth can be powerful, but prospective customers will still search for your business online. A professional website gives them a credible place to learn more before contacting you.
-
Your website isn't generating inquiries
Visitors may be reaching your site without understanding what you offer, why they should choose you, or what they're supposed to do next. The site is currently not optimized for conversion.
-
Your website is difficult to manage
If every small content update requires outside help, your website becomes more of a burden than a useful business tool. You need a well-built website with the training and support to manage it confidently on your own.
-
You're struggling to appear in search results
Poor site structure, missing SEO fundamentals, unclear content, and weak location signals can make it more difficult for your business to appear when potential customers search for your services.
-
Your current website doesn't look professional
A basic template may have worked when you first launched, but your website should evolve as your business becomes more established. Creating new pages and updating content periodically is essential for providing visitors with the most relevant information.

Brooklyn Web Design FAQs
-
Yes. I'm based in New York City and work with businesses throughout Brooklyn, including Greenpoint, Williamsburg, Bushwick, Bedford-Stuyvesant, Fort Greene, Clinton Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Park Slope, Crown Heights, Flatbush, Bay Ridge, Sheepshead Bay, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Our project will be handled remotely, so your exact location within Brooklyn doesn't affect the design process.
-
Website design pricing can vary considerably depending on the number of pages, design complexity, functionality, e-commerce requirements, custom code, and other project needs.
My custom Squarespace website projects currently start at $2,500. After an initial discovery call, I'll provide a detailed proposal outlining the exact project scope, deliverables, timeline, and price before any work begins.
Read my full guide to Squarespace web design pricing to learn more about what goes into pricing a project.
-
There isn't one web designer who's automatically the best fit for every business. Look for someone whose portfolio demonstrates strong design and usability, who has experience with the platform you want to use, communicates clearly, understands SEO fundamentals, and has a defined process for collecting feedback and managing the project.
Just as importantly, your designer should be able to explain the reasoning behind their recommendations rather than simply taking orders and arranging content on a page. Reviewing testimonials, past projects, pricing, process, and platform expertise should give you a good indication of whether someone is the right fit.
Read my guide on choosing a Squarespace web designer to learn what qualifications and experience to consider.

Both can be good options depending on your project.
Can Dohen LLC is an independent web design business, which means you'll work directly with me throughout your project rather than communicating through multiple layers of an agency. This provides a more personal and collaborative experience while still giving you access to professional design, custom code, SEO fundamentals, domain setup, integrations, and launch support.
For projects requiring services outside my specialty, I can also collaborate with or refer trusted professionals when appropriate.
-
I'm based in Queens, New York, and work with businesses throughout Brooklyn and the rest of New York City.
Because website projects are primarily handled remotely, working across boroughs doesn't create any practical limitations. You'll still be working with a New York City-based designer in the same timezone who understands the local market.
-
I specialize in Squarespace web design rather than WordPress or Wix development. However, if your existing website is currently built on WordPress or Wix and you'd prefer a platform that's easier to manage internally, I can redesign the site and migrate your content to Squarespace.
I'll handle the new design, content migration, domain connection, redirects, and launch process so the transition is as smooth as possible.
-
Every website project includes foundational SEO best practices. This will include proper page titles and descriptions, heading structure, optimized URLs, internal linking, image alt text, mobile optimization, redirects, Google Search Console setup, and content structure that helps search engines and AI understand your services and location.
I don't provide ongoing SEO strategy campaigns or long-term SEO retainers, but the website itself will be built on a strong technical and on-page foundation.
-
Yes. My portfolio includes restaurant, hospitality, and event-focused website projects, including the Squarespace redesign for Tørst in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
The specific strategy depends on the business, but restaurant and hospitality websites may include food and drink menus, reservation links, event information, inquiry forms, photo galleries, location details, and other content designed to move visitors from browsing to taking action.
-
Yes. Squarespace includes built-in e-commerce functionality for businesses that need to sell products, services, memberships, or other offerings online.
E-commerce requirements vary considerably, so the exact functionality and pricing will depend on your product catalog and checkout needs. For large scale stores and highly complex e-commerce needs, you may want to consult a Shopify specialist.
-
Absolutely. One of the primary reasons I specialize in Squarespace is that it gives business owners much more control over their website after launch.
You'll be able to update text, replace images, add pages, publish blog posts, adjust services, and make many other routine changes without needing a developer. I also provide personalized training resources and 30 days of post-launch email support to help with the transition.
-
